If your child is unwell and cannot come to school please telephone us on 0121 675 8876 .
The answer machine is listened to several times a day so please leave a message.
You can also send a message with a friend.
If your child is sick, vomits or has diarrhoea, please keep him/her at home from school for 2 days (48 hours) after the illness stops. Germs spread fast in a nursery and we want to keep all of the children as healthy as possible.
If your child starts a course of antibiotics they must remain at home for the first day (24 hours).
If your child has a FOOD ALLERGY please tell us immediately, as it is important that we know.
Medicines cannot usually be given in schools. However, children with ASTHMA must have their inhalers in school. Please give inhalers to Jane Harford or Claire Twigg who will give them to your child if they require it.
It is our policy that all staff are encouraged to be First Aid trained. Jane Harford is the lead First Aider.
Please check that your child has all the immunisation recommended for young children. This could protect other children as well as your own from certain diseases.
We respect every child’s sensitivity and encourage them to be independent.
If a child wets or soils themselves staff will assist them to change into clean clothing and this will be recorded. However we may need to contact you and ask for your assistance if your child is distressed or needs further attention.
Parents can you please ensure that a change of clothes is left at the nursery for your child. If your child needs to be changed and does not have clothes you will be telephoned and asked to bring some.
Please return any Nursery clothes (washed) back to the nursery as soon as possible as we are always short of clothes.
All staff at the nursery are DBS checked.
